Dark Star Animatic

Here we go! Here is the final animatic created from my storyboards we used for our Production class before going into Maya and animating out everything properly. Enjoy!

Dark Star!!!!

Here are the boards I did for one of our senior projects 'Dark Star' We were given a first draft script of the 1970's sci-fi classic Dark Star (you don't remember it? yeah we didn't either) and were tasked with creating a 90 second trailer for the film which was going to be done in Stereoscopic 3D!!!

As head of Story I whittled down the script into its key moments (there weren't many, it was a fairly boring movie from what I could tell) and set them in what I felt was a compelling way to sell the concept of the entire movie.

Here are the final Story Boards I put together for the entire project.

The final animatic we put together with these boards will be up shortly! Enjoy!

Man at the Movies

I didn't realize I hadn't had this posted yet! Here was a final for character animation class, the teacher gave us the scratch track and character sheet and we went from there.

I wish it wasn't quite so fast, he didn't give a lot of transition space between the lines but I guess you gotta work with whats given to ya huh?

Toys in the Attic

Oh man I forgot about this, here is a rough animatic I did for a group project some friends and I were working on our final Quarter at school. It was going to be a big multi student collab type project set to Pink Floyds 'Toys in the Attic'. It didn't get much farther than this stage unfortunately due to time restraints with us graduating and us not entirely knowing the legality of using Pink Floyds song (we were going to want to be able to submit it to festivals)

Without further ado, here is my little segment of 'The Trial"

Centaurs and Robots

My teacher was holding an Animation contest for an old Nickelodean animation desk he had to get rid of before moving, the requirements were to animate a walk and run cycle in a week. I wanted the desk bad (I was tired of animating on a little lightbox from Michaels) so instead of just some dude walking I tried the most complicated thing I could think of at the moment. A Centaur. And here they be!

First we got a walk going

Then we kick it up with a little bit'a run action

All in all I was pretty happy with them, and I guess my teacher was too, I totally won that sweet desk! No more lightbox for me!

Next up on the docket, we have the finalized ROBOT SCULPTURE!

Pencil Test Ahoy!

Hey all, here are a couple more random animations for ya'll to check out!

First here we have my first ever attempt to sync up audio with animation, we were given a Pink Panther model sheet to use for the character and just had to have him playing drums along with the audio in any way we wanted, this is what I came up with! Next

Pink Panther Drummin from Geoff Webb on Vimeo.

This one here was a double whammy,  we had to have a heavy object AND water splashing effect! CRAZY TALK! so obviously the first thing to come to mind was a Pirate and a Chest into some water

More to come!
